About the Scholarship Competition

Fashion Group International of Dallas pays homage to the next generation of fashion designers and merchandisers with its annual scholarship competition event. Heading into our 58th year tradition in 2026, we are proud to have awarded over $1 million to talented students from fashion schools, colleges, and universities in the Southwest region. Through FGI Dallas events, donations, members, community sponsors and supporters, we make it possible.

It has been an extraordinary past few years. We were challenged under the unprecedented circumstances of a pandemic, but FGI Dallas was very proud to have continued awarding scholarships via virtual events in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Our in-person live event reconvened in 2023 and was a success, as well as our 2024 event. We are thrilled to continue to provide monetary awards averaging $40,000 each year, students the FGI Scholarship Competition awarded summer internships with local designers, an industrial sewing machine and study abroad with the Paris American Academy in Paris.

We are excited to present this year’s theme, The Future of Fashion. In addition to awarding our scholarship winners, we are providing additional learning opportunities for our attendees through interactive programming with local fashion professionals. About the Fashion Group Foundation

The Fashion Group Foundation supports educational programs devoted to the study of fashion through awarding of scholarships. The mission of the Foundation is:

• To promote educational programs devoted to fashion and to the study of fashion related businesses through the creation and awarding of scholarships; establishment of internship programs; provision of career counseling services.

• Organization and sponsorship of seminars and other educational activities on a national and worldwide basis.

• To sponsor public service activities in which the fashion industry works, to serve relevant community needs and concerns and to stimulate and encourage membership and industry participation in such public service activities.
